Q: Does the parrot training system apply to all parrot species or only to certain ones?
A: A parrot is a parrot. Just as a car is a car, the basics are exactly the same -- they have wheels, you drive them with a steering wheel, you put in fuel, etc. And cars are available in different makes and models, and in comparison, parrots are different species. There are only a few things that are specific to different parrot species such as typical personality differences and, in some cases, their dietary requirements may differ (i.e. Lorikeets consume nectar as a large part of their diet and Hyacinth Macaws must have Brazil nuts to be healthy. But the basics are still the same.
If a bird has an upper beak that is hook shaped, like a macaw or budgie, then they are hookbills and fall into the category of parrots.
